294 days to go....

Summer is here and the time is flying past….Lifgun is almost ready fo to start the test sails from Turkey towards Plymouth, where the start will take place at May 10`th 2020. The sad thing about the start is, that they moved the start for the Transat away from Plymouth to Brest in France. Money makes the world goes round….But anyway we’ll keep going towards May 2020. I’m working on a long list which will be checked before the start in Plymouth, 5 pages also called the “Inspection Card for Category 1 Monohulls”. The marked points are not fulfilled.

In the meantime we also installed the “Thales Vessel Link” from AST - the whole thing is looking awesome pretty and we’ll start using it in October. But to have broadband connection out in the oceans is still an exciting idea !

Next steps : Lifgun will be hauled out on August 28 for the bottom works and we also change the sail drive membrane and some other stuff. Beginning of October a single handed sail to Valencia Spain is planned, this will take around 11 to 12 days an is part of the preparation plan. In Valencia at Futurefibres the rigg will be serviced and revised. Over X-mas a transfer trip to Plymouth is planned. Seems to be a good prep to cross the Biscaya during the Winter ))).
