Hi.

Welcome to the Lifgun-Blog. I am Markus Moser and i document my adventures in sailing around the globe. Now i’m getting ready for the Ostar race 2020!

So much fun!

So much fun!

Sailing only becomes really fun after 3 to 4 days out there, then your body gets used to the movement, the detox from the normal live is over then and you start enjoying everything. Even a Sail change at 3 a.m. But you know what – it’s all about training – until now I was hoisting and taking down the Blue Water Runner maybe 10 times mostly during the night. I’ve learned that a proper preparation is key as well as to really stow the sail away the proper way….even if you rather prefer to go sleep again. So we make an average of 185 nautical miles within 24 hours – which is much better then expected. Mostly downwind, jumping from weather system to weather system. By the way – the new thales Iridium thing is working great, not like at home but compare to the iridiumgo! it’s an awesome big difference! The weather forecasts are a question of maybe 60 seconds download time, and this is totally key – especially if you race. PredictWind (the supplier of my weather data and routing) introduced a new satellite button (for the certus network and because I asked for) in the software which is working flawless!! Thank you, guys. Bottom line is, that I’m enjoying every single second out here and it seems that I’ll arrive in Valencia in the night from Wednesday to Thursday… if everything works the right way. I’ll try to send out a short video from my lazy way to deploy the Blue Water runner…I’ll use the two electric winches and this is working freaking well. Please also note that a sailing boat is also an office )))

Edit: I wasn't able to upload the video clip. Sorry guys

Enjoy your Sunday and Hello from 38.18.823 n / 6.46.950 e
