Hi.

Breaking news…

Breaking news…

I really never lost a sail until the halyard breakage of the blue water runner in the gulf of Aden when I’m sailed up there ….Yes, some damaged sails, but not lost ones….

Last night again..the halyard or maybe the shackle of the halyard broke and this sail went into the water…pitch dark between force 4 and five wind…no chance to retrieve the sail.170 m2 getting back aboard by myself -no ways… The only option was to say farewell bwr and cut him off. Needless to point out that right now the conditions out there are perfect form this type of sail….

Sad, really sad…let’s have to check in port where the weak points are….and then we need to improve the whole setup !

But the sail goes on! Hello from 39.00.786 N / 6.25.636E

Update:

Okay guys…it was the halyard. It looks to me like the rope was breaking…maybe the splice …we will investigate in that when the mast is on the hard. However, we are roaring towards Mallorca and it seems that Wednesday evening should be ETA in Valencia. Going now to cook my last steak and watch a movie…
