The disadvantage of having a plan

Hi Folks, today we have May 2’th… That was the date I was supposed to leave my office here in Zurich for to enter an epic adventure…. to sail across the northern Atlantic, single handed and in a race. The start of the Ostar 2020 was planed for the may 10’th, 9 days from now. The boat is ready, all preps have been finished the mind set was to race. So far the plan. The reality is that the race was postponed for a year to 2021 (let’s say to celebrate 61 years of Ostar))), I’m sitting here in my office (no, I do not complaint), the plan has vaporized…To be honest - I’m suffering a bit, it was 2 years of prep, okay lots of learnings, lots of good people crossed my way, lots of know how gathered and never before I was so happy with Lifgun after this prep phase. It was a great pleasure to work together with Emre and Can from Yachtworks in Didim and with all the guys from the victory challenge base (the host of many tp52 racers) which teached me how to upgrade the electronics in the right way and how to upgrade Lifgun to become a single handed ocean racer ! Thanks to Gernot and Shayne and Ana which provided me outstanding support !!! So, finally the plan was not working because of a worldwide shutdown, which is totally understandable. Lifgun is locked in (from my point of view) in Plymouth and I have no plan how to proceed further on. Part of the plan was also to organize my work around this race, as you know I’m working as an Architect, therefore my project are rather long term situated. No clue if I can adapt my work plan in a way that I can participate in the 2021 edition. I also didn’t know the plan of the corona virus..Maybe it’s best not to have a plan right now, said as an architect )))
